In our breeding program, we consider many things conducive to raising kids on the dam in the pasture: mothering abilities, udders, parasite resistance, and good hooves, among others.
All of the kids are dam raised. We utilize Famacha in parasite control. From spring through summer and into fall, our does are on browse and pasture with free choice mineral and water available. During late fall and through winter, we add a small amount of grain and free choice hay.
